Sadly, we’ve had to cancel the Kinship At Christmas lunch this year.

Sadly, due to Covid-19 social distancing rules and changes to food preparation protocols, we have had to cancel our Blackheath free Christmas Day lunch this year.

It was to be our 21st year. We have had to make the decision reluctantly and we understand that some people will be disappointed. However, we have always operated under strict adherence to community health and safety regulations and in the best interests of the community; the health and safety of our guests and volunteers is paramount.

For lower Blue Mountains residents, there will be two smaller lunches operating by another group; to attend these lunches you must make a booking. Please call Christine Kelly on 0433 334 166 for further information.

Kinship is still giving gifts to aged care residents in the Blue Mountains; sadly, we won’t be able to visit the residents but just drop off the gifts to the facilities. We’ve been able to continue this tradition through a generous community grant given to us by the Blue Mountains City Council.

Kinship will be back with our free lunch next year. Christmas 2021 will be Covid-19 free – until then, stay safe and have the happiest Christmas that you can have.

Merry Christmas,

Mark Ptolemy, Chairman, Kinship At Christmas Foundation

We Do More Than Just Christmas Lunch….

The Kinship At Christmas Gift Giving Program:

Now in its 6th year, the Kinship At Christmas Gift Giving Program is once again ready to spread happiness among residents of Aged Care Facilities in the Blue Mountains.

The brainchild of Kinship at Christmas Director Roxanne Wilshire, the Gift Giving Program has been assisted with a grant from the Blue Mountains City Council Community Grants Program.

The aim of the Gift Giving Program is to bring a a smile to the faces of residents of Blue Mountains Aged Care facilities. Many residents are frail aged people who find it difficult to make it to our Kinship Lunches, so we go to them with small gifts and a bit of Christmas cheer. It is a real honour to meet some of our oldest local citizens.

If you would like to volunteer to come along on our planned gift giving visits, please contact us.

Kinship At Christmas Gifts to Women on the Land.

Recently, with support from the great people at Family First Credit Union at Lithgow we began our inaugural Gift Giving to Women on the Land; this is our way of recognising and appreciating the wives and mums who live on the land in the Central West who’ve had a rough couple of years.

This is another great idea from Roxanne Wilshire and we hope this can be the first year of many years of this initiative.

Our volunteers make it all happen!
